Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 74-year-old Caucasian male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Steven Waite of Lawndale.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Stab Wounds

RIP STEVEN WAITE (April 23, 1944 – July 4, 2018)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 8:23 p.m.

The decedent was attacked by his stepson Robert Schneider who in June 2026 would be sentenced to 56 years to life in state prison for first-degree murder.
