RIP SIMA ALAMDARI ( December 2, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Rosuvastatin is a prescription medication used to treat high cholesterol and prevent heart disease.

Elderly individuals over 65 process rosuvastatin more slowly due to reduced kidney and liver function, amplifying side effects even at standard doses of 5-40 mg daily. Women in this age group face heightened vulnerability to muscle weakness, cramps, and rhabdomyolysis from overdoses exceeding 100 milligrams.

But fatal outcomes from accidental rosuvastatin overdose in old people are extremely rare, as the drug has low toxicity.
