Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 34-year-old Black female that occurred on a beach.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Sherese Allen.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Traumatic Asphyxia

RIP SHERESE ALLEN (November 22, 1989 – October 17, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 11:45 p.m.

The decedent was run over by a 2015 Inifinit SUV near the 1400 block of the Santa Monica beach.

The vehicle driver, a 21-year-old male from Arcadia named Yuyang Sun, was driving in circles at high speeds on the sand when he ran over the victim. Following a DUI investigation, the suspect was arrested and preliminarily charged with the following:

  • 23152(a) VC- Driving under the influence
  • 23105 VC – Reckless Driving
  • 191.5(a) PC – Gross Vehicular Manslaughter

Sun’s next court date is November 25.
