Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 16-year-old Hispanic female.

The coroner’s office has identified the teenager as Shaylee Mejia.

Cause of Death: Sequelae of Blunt Head Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 8:59 a.m.

The decedent was beaten at Manual Arts High School on March 5. She suffered a brain hemorrhage that was detected only several days after the incident.
