(L.A.) Shane Gibson, 49, Died at an Intersection

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 49-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at an intersection.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Shane Gibson.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Trauma

RIP SHANE LEE GIBSON (August 22, 1973 – June 22, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 3:41 p.m.

The decedent was a motorcyclist who was killed in a collision with a car that was going the wrong way on a street in Long Beach.

The crash occurred about 3:30 p.m. on Bellflower Boulevard, south of Anaheim Road.

A 60-year-old Cypress woman was driving a 2015 Honda Civic north on Bellflower when she “suddenly swerved into the southbound lanes of traffic and collided with a 49-year-old male resident of Long Beach, who was riding a 2019 Honda CBR600 motorcycle,” Long Beach Police Department said in a statement.

“Speed, distracted driving and driving under the influence are not believed to be factors in the collision,” police said.
