(L.A.) Shamieta Bell, 55, Died in a Tent

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 55-year-old Black female that occurred inside a tent.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Shamieta Bell.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Cocaine

Other Significant Conditions: Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Hypertension

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 10:33 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in late August, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drug. This is considered an accidental overdose.
