Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 41-year-old Asian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Sergio Ancheta.

Born in Monterey County, California. Mother’s maiden name is Sandoval.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine

Other Significant Condition: Atherosclerotic and Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 11:33 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on June 11, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

The decedent may have been of Filipino descent.
