(L.A.) Santonio Rutherford, 38, Died at a Public Park

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 38-year-old Black male that occurred at a public park.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Santonio Rutherford.

Height: 5 feet 7 inches / Weight: 145 pounds

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 7:35 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on June 16, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

The decedent was arrested for burglary in Riverside County on November 9, 2024. He appears to have been from Atlanta, Georgia.
