(L.A.) Rosie Gabriela, a Baby, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a Hispanic female that occurred at her residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the infant girl as Rosie Gabriela.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Intrauterine Fetal Demise Complicating Maternal Methamphetamine Intoxication

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 6:25 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 8, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose. The child’s mother was abusing meth while pregnant.

Intrauterine fetal demise is the medical term for a stillbirth.
