(L.A.) Ronna Maxwell, 63, Died From Cocaine Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 63-year-old Black female that occurred at a private residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Ronna Maxwell.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Cocaine

Other Significant Conditions: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease; Medical History of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Asthma, Hypertension, Dysphagia, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Nicotine Dependence, and Multiple Previous Occasions of Pneumonia

RIP RONNA MAXWELL (September 20, 1960 – June 25, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 1:28 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in October, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug.

This is considered an accidental overdose.
