(L.A.) Ronald Stamps, 60, Died at an Intersection

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 60-year-old Caucasian male that occurred at an intersection.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Ronald Stamps.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Force Injuries

RIP RONALD STAMPS (December 29, 1961 – August 24, 2022)

The decedent was killed by a police car in Pomona on Wednesday.

The collision happened at around 5:27 a.m. on Mission Boulevard at Main Street. The police car was headed east on Mission as the officer was en route to a call. The car was not speeding and did not have its emergency lights or siren on.

Stamps was allegedly crossing Mission southbound despite facing the red hand signal that indicates a pedestrian should not cross.

The left-front of the police car hit Stamps as the car entered the intersection on a green light.

Formal pronouncement of death was made at 5:40 a.m.
