(L.A.) Rodrigo Martinez Macias, 12, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 12-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the boy as Rodrigo Martinez Macias.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of the Abdomen

RIP RODRIGO MARTINEZ MACIAS (July 4, 2012 – May 9, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 6:08 p.m.

The decedent was shot in a neighborhood park in Compton.

LASD said the shooting happened at around 3:55 p.m. in Fig/Oleander Park at North Oleander Avenue and West Fig Street.
