(L.A.) Robert Castro, 23, Died From LASD Gunfire

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 23-year-old Latino male.

The coroner’s office identified the young man as Robert Castro.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at a hospital.

The decedent was a mentally ill individual armed with a knife in the 44000 block of Sierra Highway in Lancaster when he was shot by sheriff’s deputies.

Bodycam footage showed the shooting happening at 2:10 p.m.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “Robert Castro” in public records.
