(L.A.) Ricardo Manuel Perez-Montalvan, 31, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 31-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street in East L.A.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Ricardo Manuel Perez-Montalvan.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Chest

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday night.

LASD had responded at around 8:15 p.m. to the 4700 block of Telegraph Road where they learned that four adult men had been seated inside a vehicle when multiple suspects approached and shot at them. Three victims were taken to a hospital; one died on scene.

The decedent was a Nicaraguan immigrant. His friends and family raised funds to have his body repatriated to his home country. It arrived in Nicaragua in February, met by his wife and their four children.

Note that the government investigator had initially given the decedent’s age as 46. His surname has been spelled elsewhere as Perez Montalban.
