Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 65-year-old Black male who passed away at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Rene Robertson.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Acute Cardiac Dysfunction

Cause of Death B: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Condition: Recent Cocaine Use

RIP RENE ROBERTSON (January 12, 1960 – February 6, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 9:55 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on April 19, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
