(L.A.) Reinaldo Lefonts, 68, Died in Downey

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 68-year-old Latino male that occurred in a parking lot in Downey.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Reinaldo Lefonts.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Sharp-Force Injuries

RIP REINALDO LEFONTS (December 31, 1956 – September 13, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday.

The decedent was of Cuban descent. He was attacked while he was busy charging his Tesla at around 9:35 a.m. in front of the Downey City Library at 11121 Brookshire Avenue.

Police took into custody a 23-year-old homeless man.
