(L.A.) Rebecca Chavez, 42, Died on a Highway

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 42-year-old Hispanic female that occurred on a highway.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Rebecca Chavez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Traumatic Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 9:46 p.m.

NEWS REPORT

A woman running across the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway in the Carson area was fatally injured by a semitractor-trailer at around 9:32 p.m. near the Carson Street off-ramp on the border of Carson and the unincorporated West Carson area.

CHP said the woman was found lying in the middle lanes of the freeway, lifeless.

The driver of the semitractor-trailer remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
