(L.A.) Rasheedah Mahammad, 63, Died From PCP Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 63-year-old Black female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Rasheedah Mahammad.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Condition: Phencyclidine Effects

RIP RASHEEDAH MAHAMMAD (March 3, 1961 – January 25, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 7:58 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on March 21, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

The government investigator indeed spelled the decedent’s surname as Mahammad and not Muhammad or Mohammad.
