(L.A.) Raejon’ette Morgan , 22, Died From Gunshots

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 22-year-old Black female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the young woman as Raejonette Morgan.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wounds

RIP RAEJON’ETTE MORGAN (September 13, 2001 – July 4, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 11:44 a.m.

The shooting happened on July 2 at 7:45 p.m.

LASD said the student was driving on Vermont Avenue in a white Mercedes-Benz moments and was approaching the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in Westmont when she was approached by a 2016-2018 blue two-door Honda Civic with a spoiler, louvers on the rear window, black wheels, and a loud exhaust. The driver of the Honda shot at Morgan several times, causing her to crash near a Vermont Avenue on-ramp to the 105 Freeway.

As of December 2025, authorities still have no suspect.
