(L.A.) Precious Borders, 42, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 42-year-old Black female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Precious Borders.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Pulmonary Thromboembolism

Other Significant Conditions: Diabetes, Obesity, Effects of Probable Tramadol and Tricyclic Antidepressant Use

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 8:29 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on November 7, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) are an older class of antidepressants primarily used to treat depression, though they are also prescribed for various other conditions such as anxiety disorders, chronic pain, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
