(L.A.) Phillip Tupoljew, 28, Died on a Sidewalk

Case Number: 2023-03327

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 28-year-old Caucasian male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Phillip Tupoljew.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

RIP PHILLIP ANTHONY TUPOLJEW (May 6, 1994 – March 27, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 4:09 a.m.

By June, the government employees at the medical examiner’s office had corrected the spelling of the decedent’s forename from Philip to Phillip, as well as his date of birth from May 4, 1985, to May 6, 1994. His age is 28, not 32.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 2, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drugs.

Drug deaths are frequently classified as accidents under the assumption that the users didn’t intend to kill themselves.

A detailed report by the government investigator and medical examiner on this case may be purchased from L.A. County for 67 dollars. This includes field notes on the circumstances of the death.
