(L.A.) Pertina Epps, 21, Died in a Parking Lot

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 21-year-old Black female that occurred in a parking lot.
The coroner’s office has identified the young woman as Pertina Epps.
Manner of Death: Homicide
Cause of Death A: Asphyxia
Cause of Death B: Neck Compression and Other Undetermined Factors

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday.
The decedent was found in an apartment parking structure with legs bound/bagged and her clothing in disarray. The government investigator noted that it “appears to be a body dump.” There were no visible signs of trauma when first discovered.
This was a cold case until former Inglewood teacher was convicted. He died in Jail in August 2024 before his sentencing.
