(L.A.) Peilin Shao, 42, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 42-year-old Asian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Peilin Shao.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Spontaneous Bacterial Peritonitis

Cause of Death B: Complications of Chronic Liver Disease

Other Significant Condition: Effects of Methamphetamine

RIP PEILIN SHAO (January 29, 1983 – May 13, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 12:02 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on June 18, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

The decedent’s name appears to be Chinese, possibly Taiwanese.
