(L.A.) Pearry Teo, 44, Died from a Cocaine OD

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 44-year-old male of Asian descent that occurred at a residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Pearry Teo. From Singapore. Resident of North Hollywood, California.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Cocaine Intoxication

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 9:39 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 15, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drug.

Pearry Reginald Teo Zhang Pingli was a Singaporean filmmaker. He is considered the first Singaporean movie director to make a Hollywood film.

His filmography includes The Gene Generation (2007) and Necromentia (2009).
