(L.A.) Paul Bartow, 39, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 39-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Paul Bartow.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of 7-Hydroxymitragynine, Mitragynine, Diazepam, and Ethanol

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 12, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, polysubstance overdose.

Mitragynine is the most abundant active alkaloid in the Southeast Asian plant Mitragyna speciosa, commonly known as kratom.
