Patti LaBelle, born Patricia Louise Holte on May 24, 1944, is known for her powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence.

Her musical journey began in the early 1960s as the lead singer of the vocal group Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles. The group later changed its name to Labelle in the 1970s and achieved significant success with their hit song “Lady Marmalade.”

After Labelle disbanded in 1976, Patti LaBelle launched a successful solo career. Her breakthrough as a mainstream solo artist came in 1984 with popular singles like “If Only You Knew,” “New Attitude,” and “Stir It Up”. In 1986, she reached new heights with her number-one album “Winner in You” and the chart-topping duet “On My Own” with Michael McDonald.

Beyond music, Patti LaBelle has also ventured into acting, appearing in films like “A Soldier’s Story” and TV shows such as “A Different World” and “American Horror Story: Freak Show.”
