<<< LAPD Press Release >>>

On December 26, 2004, at approximately 4:30 a.m., LAPD shot a Los Angeles man suspected of committing a homicide in the Hollywood Area.

At approximately 3:50 a.m., LAPD cops responded to a homicide that occurred in the 4900 block of West Melrose Hill. A citizen who reported the crime also supplied information describing the suspect’s vehicle. An LAPD helicopter observed the suspect’s vehicle fleeing the area and a police pursuit ensued. The suspect, later identified as Patrick Vallor, exited his car, refused to comply to officer’s orders and a less lethal weapon was used without results.

Vallor then ran from officers and drew a handgun in the process.

Two-year veteran Officer Mario Jacinto, in fear of his safety, fired his service handgun at Vallor.

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced Vallor dead at the scene. A handgun was recovered at the scene.
