(L.A.) Omar Cruz Barrera, 23, Died in a Freeway Accident

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 23-year-old male of Latin American ethnicity that occurred on the Harbor 110 Freeway, just north of the West Slauson Avenue off ramp.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Omar Cruz Barrera.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 6:30 a.m.

The decedent was killed when he crashed his motorcycle into the gore point between the HOV and Nos. 1 and 2 lanes. He was ejected off the bike and landed in the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes. An oncoming vehicle then ran over him in the roadway. He died on the scene.
