(L.A.) Nadir Gavarrete Zelaya, 9, Died at an Intersection

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a nine-year-old Latino male that occurred at an intersection in Koreatown.
The coroner’s office identified the child as Nadir Gavarrete Zelaya.

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday.
The decedent was apparently on an electric scooter with his 19-year-old brother when they were hit by a recreational vehicle.
LAPD said the incident happened at around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of South New Hampshire Avenue and 4th Street in Koreatown.
The driver of the RV was making a left turn. He remained at the scene and was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The older brother was taken to a hospital.
