(L.A.) Myrah Hunter, 1, Died in Long Beach

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a one-year-old Black female that occurred in a hospital.
The coroner’s office identified the girl as Myrah Hunter.

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.
The decedent was injured as she was sitting on steps in front of a residential complex in Long Beach along with other family members. An SUV had reversed into the group.
L.A. County District Attorney’s Office stated that at around 11:30 a.m., 55-year-old Lamont Ivan Russell was driving his SUV well above the legal alcohol limit when he accelerated in reverse onto a sidewalk on Maine Avenue. He has since been charged with one felony count of murder, one felony count of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and multiple felony counts of DUI causing injury.
