Myeshia Johnson’s Facebook Post?

There is currently a screenshot circulating on social media of what looks to be a Facebook post by Myeshia Johnson, the widow of U.S. Army Sgt. La David Johnson, the soldier who has been in the news lately because of the politicking of Florida’s cowgirl Wacky Wilson.

I want to set the record straight. I’m getting sick and tired of this so-called politician using my husband as a political platform. Even by her own words, she did not hear all of the conversation. She only heard part of it. This is what actually was said. “They know the risk, they know what they sign up for but they still volunteer to put their lives on the line for their fellow Americans. We owe them a debt that can never be repaid.”

We can’t confirm if this is authentic because it’s marked as a private post accessible only to her friends, and she is not giving interviews. It’s been noted that it may be a fake screenshot, considering the early date stamp, the high number of likes, the absence of a number showing how many comments there are, no shares, and the complete lack of reaction emojis.

Sergeant Johnson’s close relative Cowanda Jones-Johnson, however, does have the following as a public post.

Listen. If you didn’t hear it from Myeshia Johnson / Cowanda Jones Johnson / Richard Johnson, it’s a lie.

Sgt. La David T. Johnson was killed in an ambush during a joint-military mission in Niger on October 4, 2017.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Christ The Rock Church, 11000 Stirling Road, Cooper City. Johnson will be buried at Hollywood Memorial Gardens in Florida.

Perhaps after the family has grieved for a few months, there can be a statement they can publicly make to provide some clarity to a divided nation. They of course are not obligated to provide us one.
