Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 68-year-old male that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Mohammed Binissa of Granada Hills.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Trauma

RIP MOHAMMED BIN ISSA (July 20, 1954 – October 23, 2022)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 8:00 p.m.

The decedent was fatally injured in a pedestrian accident at Roscoe Boulevard and Yarmouth Avenue in Northridge. He was crossing outside a crosswalk when he was hit. The motorist who struck him remained at the scene.

The Department of Medical Examiner did not provide his race/ethnicity. For purposes of data disaggregation, we surmise based off his name that he was of Middle Eastern descent. His forename has been spelled in other media reports as Muhammad.
