(L.A.) Mike Zabala, 52, Died From Polydrug Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 52-year-old Latino male that occurred in a parking lot.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Mike Zabala.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl, Cocaine, and Lidocaine

RIP MIKE ZABALA (September 17, 1972 – January 7, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 3:48 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on February 25, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
