(L.A.) Miguel Velasquez Recinos, 25, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 25-year-old Latino male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Miguel Velasquez Recinos.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Torso

RIP MIGUEL VELASQUEZ RECINOS (August 27, 1997 – July 2, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 9:52 p.m. < The decedent was fatally shot in what police believe was a gang-related shooting in Westlake. The shooting happened at around 9:40 p.m. at Eighth Street and Park View Avenue. Velasquez was standing on the street when he was approached by two males on scooters. The suspects exchanged words with Velasquez before one suspect shot him in the chest with a handgun and both suspects fled.
