(L.A.) Miguel Castillanos Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the individual as Miguel Castillanos.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Extreme Prematurity

Other Significant Condition: Effects of Maternal Methamphetamine Use

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 2:17 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on December 16, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

Had been posted as “Baby Boy Lepe Rubio” on August 4. Changed to “Rubio Castillanos” on August 15. Changed to “Miguel Castillanos” on August 19.
