(L.A.) Michael Worthy, 38, Died in a Vacant Building

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 38-year-old Black male that occurred at a vacant building.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Michael Worthy. Born in Kern County.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 1:03 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on June 15, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

The decedent had a rap sheet that included charges of burglary, trespassing and drug possession in Kern County.
