(L.A.) Michael Virgil, 35, Died on a Ship

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 35-year-old male that occurred on a cruise ship.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Michael Virgil.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Combined Effects of Mechanical Asphyxia, Obesity, Cardiomegaly, and Ethanol Intoxication

RIP MICHAEL VIRGIL (November 6, 1989 – December 13, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 8:32 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-April 2025.

The decedent was a passenger on Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas who was supposedly served 33 drinks.

His family would sue the cruise line in December 2025.
