(L.A.) Michael Elridge, 61, Died in Car-to-Car Shooting

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 61-year-old Black male that occurred on a street in Inglewood.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Michael Elridge of Adelanto.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Torso and Left Upper Extremity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday night.

The targeted shooting happened at around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Kelso Street, near Manchester Boulevard.

Two vehicles stopped near the Kia Forum. A suspect exited one car and approached the other’s driver-side door and fired shots.

The victim was still able to drive a block before losing consciousness and crashing near Nutwood Street and Prairie Avenue.

He had a female passenger who was unharmed.
