Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the infant boy as Micah Morales-Saldana.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Intrauterine Fetal Demise

Cause of Death B: Acute Chorioamnionitis

Other Significant Conditions: Effects of Methamphetamine; Oligohydramnios

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 3:20 a.m.

Intrauterine fetal demise is the medical term for a stillbirth.

The child’s mother was abusing meth while pregnant. This is classified as an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
