(L.A.) Markeece Starks, 32, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 32-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Markeece Starks.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Cocaine and Methamphetamine

Other Significant Condition: History of Congestive Heart Failure

RIP MARKEECE DEMOND STARKS (November 13, 1993 – December 10, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.

The decedent was arrested by LAPD on July 4, 2024, for sodomy by use of force. Four days later, the district attorney rejected the case and ordered the release of the suspect. Under 849.5PC, Starks was not arrested but merely detained.
