Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 50-year-old Black male that occurred at a private residence in Long Beach.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Marcus George.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Blunt Traumatic Injuries

RIP MARCUS GEORGE (November 22, 1972 – July 24, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 9:19 p.m.

Police were sent to the 1700 block of Magnolia Avenue at around 9:05 p.m. for an unresponsive man inside a residence, according to the Long Beach Police Department. The man was was found on the floor suffering from injuries to his upper body. Preliminary investigation indicates that he was assaulted inside the residence.
