Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 47-year-old White/Caucasian female that occurred in a tunnel.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Lora Newton.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Effects

RIP LORA NEWTON (October 17, 1975 – June 27, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 11:05 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on August 17, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drugs. This is considered an accidental overdose.
