RIP LINDA FARZAN-KASHANI (March 1, 1970 – February 5, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 7:35 p.m.

The decedent was shot to death by her husband after she exited a vehicle in which they had been arguing. Their teen son was in the back seat when it happened.

Incident location was the 5100 block of Hesperia Avenue, near the intersection of Lindley Avenue and Ventura Boulevard in Encino. It was apparently the home of Rabbi Zangan, who leads a small Iranian-Jewish synagogue; the rabbi’s wife was close friends with the victim and they were all of Persian Jewish background.

Authorities identified the suspect as 64-year-old Shaharam “Sean” Farzan and his bail has been set at $3 million.

Linda Farzan had filed for divorce from Sean Farzan in November 2022. The proceedings appear to not have been finalized.
