Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 17-year-old Hispanic female that occurred at an embankment.

The coroner’s office has identified the teenager as Leslie Hernandez of Santa Monica, California.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 1:53 a.m.

The decedent’s body was found along the Los Angeles River in Long Beach. It was discovered at around 1:30 a.m. along the waterline just south of the Ocean Boulevard bridge.
