(L.A.) Lauro Santiago-Percastegui, 43, Died in a Parking Lot

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 43-year-old Latino male that occurred in a parking lot.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Lauro Santiago-Percastegui.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Ethanol Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-July, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, substance overdose.

The decedent’s body had been repatriated to Mexico in May.
