(L.A.) Khalil Saleem, 17, Died From a Drive-By Shooting

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 17-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the teen as Khalil Saleem.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of the Head

RIP KHALIL SALEEM (March 30, 2005 – January 21, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 5:43 p.m.

The decedent was with his younger brother and friends at the basketball courts on the south side of Silverado Park in West Long Beach when at around 1:51 p.m., three of them were shot during a gunfight between someone driving by in an SUV and an unidentified person who was also at the courts.
