(L.A.) Kevin Lee-Wellington, 44, Died From Chloroethane

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 44-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Kevin Lee-Wellington.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 6:36 a.m.
Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on December 22, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
It appears to have been inhalant abuse.
Huffing usually involves difluoroethane. In this case, the substance involved was chloroethane, also known as ethyl chloride.
Chloroethane can cause cardiac arrest or myocardial infarction (heart attack).
Darius Campbell Danesh was a Scottish singer and actor who died in 2022, at the age of 41, after inhaling chloroethane.
