RIP KAMREN LEE NETTLES (December 24, 2003 – May 13, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 2:50 a.m.

His body was found inside his cell at Men’s Central Jail, located 441 Bauchet Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 28, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drugs. This was an accidental drug overdose.

The decedent had been charged with murder and attempted murder in connection to the April 2022 shooting death of 18-year-old Justin Culberson after a botched robbery attempt at an illegal marijuana dispensary in Compton.

There were four robbers, among them Kamren Nettles. The store employee behind the counter survived. One of the four robbers did not — that was Justin Culberson who later died in the hospital.
