(L.A.) Julio Pineda, 16, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 16-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital for women and children.

The coroner’s office has identified the teenager as Julio Pineda.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl Intoxication

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 1:43 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on April 22, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug.
