Julián Castro formally announces the end of his presidential campaign
On Thursday, Castro confirmed the end of his bid for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. The former housing secretary was the only Latino candidate in the Democratic primary.
“With only a month until the Iowa caucuses, and given the circumstances of this campaign season, I have determined that it simply isn’t our time.”
Castro ran for approximately 355 days.
A politician from San Antonio, Castro was the youngest member of the Obama regime’s cabinet, serving as the 16th United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development from 2014 to 2017.
